H.E. Jetsun Kushok Chimey Luding
She is the sister of H.H. Sakya Trizin, and is invoked as one of the three women in the history of the Sakya Tradition that has transmitted the precious Lamdre Teachings, and the first timeshe was only 16! It is said that H.E. Jetsun Chime-la is an emanation of Vajrayogini, the enlightened energy of liberation. But for those who knows her well, she is like the earth itself, stable, imperturbable, free from the 8 mundane Dharmas, a pure example of the ripened fruits of a continous practice in often very difficult circumstances.
After the death of their parents, the brother and sister were brought up under the guidance of Thinley Zangmo, their aunt. She was an extraordinary woman, she was supervising their education, the city of Sakya and she practiced practically during the whole night. Jetsun Chime-la herself, inbetween family duties and working as a spiritual guide, practice during the dark hours of the night, often without sleeping as her aunt. She has said that she rarely feel tired and never feels annoyed or alone.
She is the mother of 4 children, she has worked full-time for many years, meanwhile she continued to give help to her numerous students.
She is the elder sister of H.H. Sakya Trizin, she has folowed the same Teachings and the same retreats as H.H., with her own words: “His Holiness and I were always together, wherever he went, I went with him, I was always with him.”
In 1973 H.E.and her family moved to Vancouver, Canada, where she still lives and where Jetsun Chime-la has founded the Center Sakya Tsechen Thubten Ling and another Center in Oakland.
Since a long time Jetsun Chime-la has the intention to enter in a Vajrayogini-reatreat for the rest of her life.
She would like to build a retreat center beside the place where she intends to live in retreat so that she will be able to help and guide who resides ihn the center. The center is called Kacho Ling, the name of the pure lands of the activities of Vajrayogini.
It’s very precious for us here in Italy, to have been able to meet a Lama in a femminine lineage of such vast proportions, as that of H.E. Jetsun Chimey Luding, she has come here in two occations, and both times she conferred the empowerments of Hevajra and Vajrayogini, the two principal practices of the Sakya school.
We hope to see her here again.
